It's dark in this closet...

"The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world."
— Alicia Keys

Why do we keep the clothes we never wear?
Every article of clothing has monetary value, and damn straight~ we expect to get our money's worth!  Our wardrobe is an investment.  By discarding articles of clothing we may perceive it as a loss of economic value, declaring it worthless, a mistake, or a compulsive shopping purchase.  (Gasp!)... and the classic  "Well, I  just might need to wear this... someday."

(image source:  kotex.mx.)  Yep. A 'lady day' site.

When I googled 'how much do we actually wear?'  Some studies showed that most women only wear 20 to 30% of their entire wardrobe 80 percent of the time.

By streamlining our wardrobe, we save both time & stress getting dressed.  We have more disposable income in that we become selective (think quality vs. quantity & classic basics).  Your closet space becomes uncluttered and organized.  And laundry may not lessen, but it might become easier.

So go ahead.  Tackle that closet with gusto.  Shine some light on your wardrobe and lighten your load.  And if you need someone to hold your hand, call me...  I'll bring some wine.

Take my hand.

All moved in to my little space in the studio...

with a piece or two tucked in the middle.
{This one on hold for a sweet client, away on business at the moment}.

Beautiful new neighbor... an amazing Stylist.
& No, I am not partial...   {okay, maybe just a little}.

Ms. Scarlet Red... with an awful glare behind her (Apologies. Phone camera. meh.).  She's HUGE & solid.  I should've named her Big Red Bertha... but well, she has such a beautiful Scarlet Red hue to her.  She was a pine 'Bar', converted into a 'T.V. Hutch', & she  now has a lovely Red glow to her.

I'm happily adapting to my new space and some new changes in this chapter of my life.
It's nice to work around/with such good people.  So fun creating with these ladies at the studio.
I'm still figuring out which day(s) of the week are best for me.

Currently working on some pieces for a client.  Images to follow soon and
I'll be sure let you know which days I'll be at the studio.
That way, if you swing by, I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee for us.

Three years of reflection & some fun along the way...

So many lessons learned along the way after closing shop...

The Burlap Harlot Show with pure shenanigans & adventures galore...

I dabbled in this and that...

& created a craft or two...

so, come join me, 'mo' on some new adventures!

With a paintbrush in one hand and a coffee mug in the other (or a wine glass), I go.
I hope to see you at "Altered Wing Studios" where I'll be creating & placing my pieces,  most definitely hope to see your gorgeous smile at our show, or catch you on the FB, here on my wall:  mo.

Thanks so much for peeking.

A Most Lovely Final Diva Day it was...

I took a short breather just long enough to snap a few images...

So many beautiful chicas (& guys) stopping by just to wish me the best of luck and mentioning how much FUN it's been!

I can honestly say it was probably the hardest week of preparation due to all the end-of-school activities for both my moppets, plus my husband's job, evening engagements...

What I will not miss: Difficult customers!
The evening turned out SO very beautiful with my true, lovely customers & friends
who were, and will always be, the most loveliest of all!
And that is what I will miss most of all!

great times...

loveliest chica...stage left...

The hardest part of closing shop: No more Diva Days...
The easiest part of closing shop...being home for my loveliest Divas of all.

It's been a great ride! Thanks for supporting
my vintage inspired dream!

Monday musings...Let's Caravan!

I just arrived home from camping. My kind of camping would be to camp out at this shop while admiring beautiful finds. Oh yes, in London...of course!

Stylist Emily Chalmers, and author of Flea Market Style, also owns a stunning shop in London called Caravan...

I know... I am such a sucker for birds and nests. Always have been. I have admired this line since the very first day I laid eyes on the website... swoon.

Coasting...

images from google...
We leave on a camping trip to the coast Wednesday morning. When I first met my husband back in '84, I found it so odd to hear people say, "we're heading to the coast"...only because I had just moved inland to Redding. Growing up in the South Bay, it was so foreign to me when I heard people say it. Now, it brings sheer joy to my heart when I say, "we're heading to the coast". If I don't get to the ocean at least twice a year, I am NOT a happy camper. With the closure of my shop around the corner, this is the perfect place to just breathe and reflect with my kids. The weather should be sunny in the high 50's while it is in the 90's here, in Redding.
Oh, I love staying 'on the coast'!

I say Songria... you say Sangria...

For my 49th , I mean "Who's Counting?" Birthday Party, I decided to host a Sangria Party...   {image source:  Pinterest...
